Hydraulic Winches

Hydraulic Direct Drive Winches are the primary choice of clients where the long term lowest cost of operation is the best solution. The direct drive concept eliminates the need of a gear reducer between the high speed hydraulic motor and the winch drum. The result is a smoother and more efficient operating winch that lasts for decades. Hydraulic Direct Drive Winches are also the winch of choice in high moisture areas and hazardous control areas where electrical drive winches are not practical or too costly to overcome all the operating parameters.

Our hydraulic motor of choice is provided by Hägglunds Drives, a division of the Bosch Rexroth. These motors are low speed, high torque motors with low rotating inertia, and multiple pistons and multiple power strokes per revolution giving them a very low torque ripple throughout each revolution.

There are three primary areas where we have applied hydraulic direct driven winches, for Draw works on oil & gas drilling rigs, for primary lift, heavy lift and topping lines on Clam Shell Dredges and for constant tension winches with many different applications.
