Hawaii Super Ferry

The Hawaii Super Ferry was a private industry developed inter-island transportation system for pedestrians, vehicles and commercial truck service. It began operation in 2008 and was shut down in 2010 by a court order having lost an environmental study ruling.

Sawyer Systems was contracted to supply the hydraulic and control systems for positioning the vehicle loading ramps and pedestrian gangways. The following major equipment was supplied:

  1. Salt Air Exposure Hydraulic Cylinders with Internal Feedback
  2. Marine Duty Hydraulic Unit ( 3 )
  3. Wireless Remote and Permanently mounted control stations.
  4. Inter-connecting piping system for all components.
  5. On-Site Preventive Maintenance Contract.
