Parker Drilling Rigs 272 and 273 are referred as the Alaska Arctic Drilling Units (AADU). These two rigs were fabricated by Thompson Metal Fabricators in Vancouver, Washington and shipped by barge to the North Slope of Alaska to be used in the Prudhoe Bay Oil Fields. Sawyer Systems provided the welded hydraulic piping systems these rigs.
The field installation started with the 300 gpm, 5,000 psi closed loop system for the Columbia Industries Wheel System that supports and transport the drilling rig well to well. A picture of the wheel system is provided below.
Our field services crews provided the hydraulic piping for all drill floor functions, drill pipe handling and blow out preventer system. The pictures below show examples of the installation . Selecting each picture will expand it to show more detail and give a further description.
