BOP Section Shop Fabricated and shipped to the Rig

Sawyer Systems provides on-site installation services for our hydraulic systems. This includes installing the inter-connecting piping system and our electrical control products. Installation projects can last for days, weeks or years.

Our field crews operate out of mobile shop fabricated from a standard 40 foot shipping container. We have multiple mobile shops that allow us to work on more than one major project at a time. The shops provide for on-site fabrication capabilities and organized storage for tools, safety gear and installation materials.

We install fully welded and non-welded piping systems in carbon steel, stainless steel and super duplex tubing. The systems are designed with 3D modeling and fit into the client’s model prior to installation to avoid interferences with the other equipment, piping and electrical systems.

Once the system is installed, each pipe run is flushed to a specification, pressure tested and certified ready for operation. Our crews continue on-site through commissioning of the equipment to guarantee a successful system.

The picture on the right is part of a fully welded pre-engineering system for the Blow-Out Preventer on an oil drilling rig. The entire system was designed in 3D, shop manufactured, shipped to the jobsite and installed with our crews. Shop fabrication can save up to 30% of the total installation costs.

Installations

Mobile Shop

This picture shows an example of a non-welded system on a cutter head dredge. The piping system is below deck. Steel bulkhead manifolds were welded into the deck steel to make a water-tight seal.

Lexington Dredge Piping

This picture shows an example of a welded system on the world’s largest land based drilling rig. The hydraulic piping system is connects the rig hydraulic units to the drill floor systems, pipe and casing handling and the self-contained rig moving system.

BP Liberty Pipe Handling

This picture shows an example of a welded system on a Arctic based Oil Drilling Rig. The piping system included over 10,000 ft. of ¾” to 2-1/2” XXS pipe. The system was completed, flushed, pressure tested and commissioned well ahead of the project schedule.
